Meltham

Meltham is a town and civil parish in the county of West Yorkshire, England, south of Slaithwaite. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 8089.

The town is about three miles to the southwest of Huddersfield. It was the site of the David Brown tractor factory until this closed in the 1980s.

Meltham is on the edge of the Peak District.

Meltham also includes the small village of Helme, which has its own church and primary school.
