Andrey Kaschechkin is a Kazakh cyclist currently riding for the Team Astana UCI ProTour outfit.

Kaschechkin was born on March 21, 1980 at Kzyl Orda, Kazakhstan. As a child, he practised sports such as swimming or football, until he followed the footsteps of his older brother and took up cycling.

After the junior World Championships at Valkenburg, Kaschechkin moved to Belgium, where he turned pro in 2001 with the Domo-Farm Frites team. In 2003, he moved to Quick Step-Davitamon, and the following year to French squad Crédit Agricole.

After two successful seasons in that team, Kaschechkin joined Team Astana, where he has posted good results throughout the 2006 season. In winter 2005, he married his girlfriend Nadja.
