The Perth Zoo opened in Perth, Australia in 1898 with two lions, a tiger and six staff members. The zoo has been open every day since.

Currently the zoo houses more than 1,500 animals. Unlike most zoos, the Perth Zoo is open 365 days a year.

Major exhibits include The African Savanna, the Asian Rainforest Zone, Australian Walkabout, the World of Birds, and The Nocturnal House.
