Pale Cocoon (ペイル・コクーン, ) is a single episode OVA directed and scripted by Yasuhiro Yoshiura.[1]
Synopsis
It has been many years since humans retreated underground. The world above was destroyed by human foolishness, made almost completely inhabitable. Much of recorded history has been forgotten, despite the numerous advances in technology. The last remaining bits of history lies clumped together in a vast archive of data, much of it in corrupted formats. Determined to recover this precious information, the "Archive Excavation Department" works specifically to restore as much of it as possible. Ura is a particularily motivated member of the department, working long hours to recover ancient history. However, he comes upon a record that once decoded, completely changes the way he sees his world.
