Marshal-of-Lodgings is a French rank used by "mounted arms" of the French Army (such as armoured cavalry and the train) and by the Gendarmerie. It is also used in a number of other countries. In French it is Maréchal-des-logis.

  • Chief Marshal-of-Lodgings: Maréchal des logis-chef (equivalent to sergeant-chef)
    • Maréchal des logis-chef
  • Marshal-of-Lodgings: Maréchal des logis (equivalent to sergeant)
    • Maréchal des logis

Both ranks are roughly equivalent to a British or Commonwealth sergeant. The chief marshal-of-lodgings corresponds quite closely to the US use of the rank of staff sergeant.
