A UK punk band from the 1970s that prominently featured... saxophones, played by saxophonist Lora Logic.

As strange as the combination sounded, it worked. It's synergy was due in no small part to lead singer, songwriter and instigator Poly Styrene's incessant wailing/screaming, which somehow provided the perfect balance to the saxophones. Songs like "Identity" are a perfect example of this synergy at work.

Other songs like "Warrior at Woolworth's" are slower, more melodic numbers which still manage to be punk, despite being heavily sax-dominated. Things weren't the same after her nervous breakdown. Their best known songs were probably "Oh Bondage Up Yours!", and "The Day the World Turned Dayglo", the former being featured as background music on one of MTV's programs (Jackass?).

Lora Logic (born Susan Whitby) left to form Essential Logic.

Poly Styrene (born Marion Elliot) later joined the Hare Krishna movement.
