Classic Cola is a cola made by Sainsbury's supermarkets in United Kingdom. It was launched in the mid-1990s and unlike other storebrand colas, which are seen as cheap versions of the real thing, this was designed to be a worthy competitor against Coca-Cola and Pepsi in Sainsbury's chains. The Coca-Cola Company filed a lawsuit against the Classic Cola brand claiming the design of the cans was too similar their own. Today, Classic Cola is still being made and sells well, although not nearly as well as Pepsi and Coca-Cola.
