BNN (Dutch broadcaster)
BNN, Bart's Neverending Network, is a public-service broadcasting network in the Netherlands, which was founded on August 15, 1997 and is primarily targeted at a younger -teen to young adult- audience. BNN broadcasts both television- and radioshows.
BNN's first television show was aired on September 6, 1998 and since then the station has grown excessively. While Dutch media in general is known to be easy in regards to how they look at certain subjects, such as sexuality and drugs, BNN has often been talked about for it's controversial ways of making television, which was actually no more then daring to talk about things other didn't.
The most controversial shows have been Neuken doe je zo! (This is how you fuck!), in which 7 episodes were giving sexual information, in a language and a way that would appeal to the teenage audience. Spuiten & Slikken (Squirt & Swallow) discussed both sexuality and the use of drugs. BNN's show Try before you die, in which the presentators try things you should have done at least once in your life, got world famous when presentator Sander Lantinga acted as a streaker in the quarter finals tennis match between Maria Sharapova and Elena Dementieva on Wimbledon.
BNN is however not only known for it's controversial shows, but also for many entertaining shows, such as Nu we er toch zijn (Now that we are here anyway), in which presentator Eddy Zoey tests the hospitality of Dutch places and De Lama's, which is a dutch version of Whose Line is it Anyway?.

Abbreviation
The abbreviation BNN officially stands for Bart's Neverending Network, referring to it's late founder Bart de Graaff.
In the early 90's, BNN was a television show presented by Bart de Graaff, on Veronica, and stands for Bart's News Network. When BNN was founded as a broadcasting network, it stood for Brutaal News Network (Flagrant News Network), yet after founder Bart de Graaff died on May 25th 2002, it's meaning was changed to Bart's Neverending Network.
