Dresden State Art Collections

Template:Linkless The Dresden State Art Collections is a cultural institution in Dresden, Germany owned by the State of Saxony.

It is divided into twelve museums. Most of them are located in the buildings of Zwinger and the Dresden castle in the city of Dresden.

The most known museums of the art collections are the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister (Old Masters Picture Gallery) in the Zwinger building and the Grünes Gewölbe (Green vault) in the castle. Further museums are:

  • Münzkabinett (Coin Cabinet), Albertinum
  • Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts), Pillnitz
  • Museum für Sächsische Volkskunst and Puppentheatersammlung (Saxon Folk Art Museum and Puppet Theatre Collection), Jägerhof in Dresden-Neustadt
  • Skulpturensammlung (Sculpture Collection), Dresden Castle
