Parables for Wooden Ears was the first album released by the Australian band Powderfinger. It was released on July 18, 1994 by Polydor Records. In an interview with Melbourne newspaper The Age, Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning recalled that the head of the band's record company at the time had described the album as "awful". Only one song from the album, Sink Low was included on their 2004 album, Fingerprints, a collection of songs from their first three releases.
