Tammy Faye Messner Absolutely Non-notable. Who is this person?

  • Another apparently lost/orphaned VfD nom, as it doesn't appear to have ever been posted to the main page (based on improper format and lack of votes). Procedural/keep--notorious in the US (could use some cleanup, however--most of her notability pre-dates the 'surreal life' appearance). Niteowlneils 21:45, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Notability obvious to any American over 26. The article needs cleanup but this is irrelevant to the question of deletion. More avid fans of 1980s American history may remember her better as Tammy Faye Bakker. - [[User:KeithTyler|Keith D. Tyler [flame]]] 22:04, Nov 24, 2004 (UTC)
  • Strong keep but could use attention; agreeing with Niteowlneils and KeithTyler. Presumably all 69 900 Google hits for "Tammy Faye" refer to her. Best known by her given names alone or her previously married name of Tammy Faye Bakker, which rightly redirects here. (And I just added a redirect from Tammy Faye.) • Keep, obviously. [[User:GRider|GRider\talk]] 22:28, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. She's quite well known; didn't Zappa sing about her & her the husband? Ah yes; in the track "Jesus Thinks You're a Jerk"--Tagishsimon (talk)
  • Keep: She's best known just as "Tammy Faye," as the ex-wife of Jim Bakker. She is an author and one of those people famous for being famous in her own right. The article needs rewriting to make it clear. Send to Clean Up. (She was most recently on VH-1's "The Surreal Life.") Geogre 22:37, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Scrape off the makeup and you might find Jimmy Hoffa though. Antandrus 01:32, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • LOL! Keep. I can say in all honesty that she exists. Used to live out in my neck of the woods, in fact. I once bumped into her at a fast food joint. She turned out to be a rather nice person. - Lucky 6.9 02:04, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, and thanks to Lucky for reminding me of those "I ran into Tammy Faye" T-shirts. Gazpacho 04:30, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • A relative of mine almost ran into Ian Paisley, once, except he managed to brake in time. He still wonders if this was a good idea. Anyhow, keep... Shimgray 12:29, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
