A ruse is an action or plan which is intended to deceive someone.

To perform a ruse. A term of endearment that has become popular within the software development industry over the last couple of years. It is used when a software developer, goes above and beyond the call of duty to produce code of such technical prowess, that the only other word to describe it would be revolutionary.
