Gertrude Goldschmidt also known as Gego, was a modern Latin American artist and sculptor, active in Venezuela. She was born in 1912 in Hamburg, Germany, and arrived in Venezuela in 1939. She died in 1994. Along with Alejandro Otero, she is considered a Kinetic Artist. She is known for mesh-like constructions of cords, wires and rods.
