Peter Torry

Sir Peter James Torry KCMG GVO (born 2 August 1948) is since 2003 the UK Ambassador to Germany. He was educated at Dover College and New College, Oxford where he won a blue for Rugby.

He was previously Ambassador to Spain from 1998-2003 and has also worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Washington DC, Bonn, Jakarta and Cuba. He enjoys antiques, golf, reading, walking and travelling. He is married with three daughters.
