James Joyce's most famous novel is consistently cited as the greatest novel of the 20th century and maps the adventures of Odysseus to modern Irish life circa 1904.

Though most publications omit the chapter titles, they are crucial to understanding the novel and finding the correspondences in Homer's Odyssey. The first three chapters constitute The Telemachiad, chapters four to fifteen The Wanderings of Ulysses, and the final three chapters The Homecoming.
