Sir David Dalrymple, 1st Baronet (16653 December 1721) was a British politician and baronet.

Dalrymple was the youngest son of James Dalrymple, 1st Viscount of Stair and so his descendants remain in the remainder to both the Viscountcy and the baronetcy held by his father. He was educated at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Utrecht. In 1691 he married Janet Murray (nee Rochead): With her he had three sons and four daughters.

He was elected to represent Culross in 1698, serving until the death of the Parliament of Scotland in 1707. In 1706 he was one of the Commissioners who negotiated the Act of Union with England. Dalrymple served as Member of Parliament for Scotland in the year immediately after the Act of Union 1707 and then for Haddington from 1708 until his death in 1721 when he was succeeded by his son Sir James Dalrymple, 2nd Baronet.

From 1709 to 1711 and then again from 1714 to 1720 he served as Lord Advocate of Scotland, with the gap in service caused by the rise to power of a Tory ministry. In 1720 he was made Auditor of the Court of Exchequer.
