Workaround is the act of bypassing a problem or set of problems, to achieve the desired goal. This term is applicable to any field, and when implemented can be a temporary or permenant solution to the initial problem. A workaround is usually a very creative solution to an overall problem that would not have been implemented unless a problem had existed in the initial implementation of the proposed solution to the overall problem.
