The AAA Patriot District is a high school conference in the state of Virginia that includes schools from eastern Fairfax County and Alexandria City. AAA is the largest enrollment class and also typically the most competitive level in Virginia high school sports. The Patriot District was founded in 1993 as part of an attempted realignment of the Northern Region. The seven charter members of the district were Annandale, West Springfield, and T.C. Williams High Schools, along with Hayfield, Lake Braddock, and Robinson Secondary Schools.

All of the Patriot District schools are in Division 6 (larger AAA schools) except for South County and Hayfield which are in Division 5. The largest member is T.C. Williams with an enrollment of about 3,000 students (from 9th-12th grade; T.C. itself is a 10-12 school), and the smallest member is Lee High School with an enrollment at around 2,100 students.

The Patriot District schools compete in the AAA Northern Region with the schools from the AAA Concorde District, the AAA Liberty District, and the AAA National District.

District Changes in 2005

The Patriot District experienced some changes in 2005 due to realignment and the opening of South County Secondary School in Lorton. The Patriot District was determined by the Northern Region at least initially to hold only Division 6 schools, and moved Lee from the Liberty District to the Patriot. However, Robinson, a perennial Patriot member in the past was moved to the Concorde District, which caused some controversy, as it severed their rivalry with Lake Braddock.
