Seaview is a small village located on the North East corner of the Isle of Wight. The village is popular with tourists and is only a 10-minute drive from the town of Ryde, where most tourists arrive on the island by ferry or hovercraft.

The village

The village is centred around High Street, the location of prestigious Seaview Hotel. There is a great view from High Street of the sea and 'No Man's Land Fort', (on which three men live) which is in the middle of the Solent.

High Street runs at a right angle to the sea front. On the seafront lies the 'The Old Fort' pub, a popular summer drinking spot. The village is so lively in the summer months of July and August that it is known as the Cornwall of the South.

The well-known Priory Bay is approximately a five minute walk from the village. This stretch of beach can only be reached at low tide. It is filled with white sand and enjoys beautiful swimming conditions. In addition, Seagrove Bay is quite popular, with some of the largest houses in the area.

The HSE AKA the High Street Elite run the place, they are an organisation run by Mambler enterprises and look to have as much fun as possible without inconveiniencing the locals there group includes: frank the tank, jepeto, cadet, sleeze man, ganja, the buff man and lairy man as well as several other counterparts all concluding in a memrobal summer all around.

Boating

The village's spirit is centred on the Seaview Yacht Club, founded in 1895. This is where village residents come to socialise and sail. The club is to one side of Seaview and on the front. In summer, the club hosts the Seaview Regatta, where locals and tourists can take part in may traditional activities such the greasy pole where people line up and see how far they can slide along a pole covered in grease. Once they have slipped off the pole, they drop into the sea below. There is also the diving competition where contestants are awarded points for stance, accuracy and trick. [1]

There are hundreds of boats offshore. These are mainly Seaview's one design sailing boats called Mermaids. There are also many different types of motor boats.
