Nicholas Louis Charles Norton Knatchbull (born 15 May 1981) is the son and heir of the 8th Baron Brabourne and the former Penelope Eastwood. He is a distant relative of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Nicholas is heir, after his father, to the title Earl Mountbatten of Burma. His grandmother, the 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma, is the current holder of the title. He is also a close friend of Prince William. Nicholas has had a history of drug addiction.[1]
