ByHours is a Spanish company and first microstays booking platform where hotels can be booked on the hourly basis.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] The company was founded on March 2012 by Christian Rodriguez, Guillermo Gaspart, and Christian Picard Rinaldi in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Byhours currently has more than 2,500 hotels across Europe (971 hotels in Spain, 424 in Germany, 133 in France,[11] 100 in Colombia and 869 in Italy etc.).[12][13][14][7] The Company represents hotels in 20 countries in Europe, America, and Asia.[1] The app is available on Android and iOS.[15] The company raised €600K seed funding from Caixa Capital and Cabiedes Partners in July 2013.[16] In 2014, according to Travelmole, over 150,000 bookings were made through ByHours at over 1,500 hotels in Spain.[1][13][17][6][2][18][8][19]

History

ByHours was estalished on March 2012 by Christian Rodriguez, Guillermo Gaspart, and Christian Picard Rinaldi.[12][18] The company is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain.

Funding

On July 2013, ByHours raised €600K seed funding from Caixa Capital and Cabiedes Partners.[16]

Awards and recognition

  • Best Startup of the Year in 2012 Spain at Ecommerce awards.[5][2][20][21]
  • Received eAwards 2014 as the Best App of the Year in Spain.[2]
  • Won the first prize in the travel and tourism web shop category.[5][20][21]
