Ken Bastida is a California news anchor on CBS, Channel 5 (KPIX) since 1990. He is married with 3 children. He started out as a local radio host in 1978. He has worked at KFRC, KGO, KMEL, K101, KFYI and KCBS radio. He was later picked up as the morning CBS news anchor and for awhile had his own gardening TV show on HGTV. After being promoted to the evening news, he shaved his mustache without the consent of CBS news. Luckily they liked the look and it is his current look now. Ken holds a degree in telecommunications and journalism from San Francisco State University.

Bastida is the recipient of the 2004 Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in "continuing coverage" for his series "Inside the Middle East."
