The Loksatta is a Marathi newspaper in Maharashtra, India. Lok means people in Marathi/Hindi. It has branches in Mumbai (Bombay), Nagpur, Pune, Ahmednagar and Delhi.

LOKSATTA is also a name of a group formed by Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, Renowned People's activist from Andhra Pradesh/India. Recently the group declared to form a political party and contest in upcoming elections.Though the movement is initially started in Andhra Pradesh, Later it spread across the country. He firmly believes that the DEMOCRACY is for the people and by the people. While emerging the group as Political party, he strikes that his group or party is aimed to enrich the political scenario in India with its true spirit. And he feels that his party would not be considered as an alternative to another political party. It is aimed to create a true & faithful political picture in India.
