VoIP Support

The built-in SIP VoIP client does not currently work correctly when behind a router which performs NAT. However, the device works very effectively in an office situation when connecting to a IP PABX on the same network. This allows the device to assume the role of an extension on a company phone system.

Because of the issues with NAT support, the E61 is unable to register with most commercial VoIP providers. A notable exception is UK VoIP Provider AQL who have developed technology that enables the E-Series handsets to receive inbound calls as well as make outbound calls using the handsets own VoIP client, even when behind a NAT gateway.
