Its sister school, West Morris Central High School, is located in Washington Township. Students from Washington Township and portions of Chester Township attend West Morris Central.

Mendham was certified to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in 1998.

For the 2006-2007 School Year, school began on September 6, 2006 and ends on June 21, 2007 with graduation.

Athletics

West Morris Mendham High School offers over 30 Athletic teams ranging in level from Freshman (no cuts) to Varsity. Mendham has a strong tradition of athletic excellence; since the school's opening in the fall of 1970, Mendham varsity teams have brought home more than 100 conference, county, region, and state championships. The West Morris Mendham Minutemen participate in the twenty-member Iron Hills Conference.

Varsity Football: The Football team under head coach Richard Attonito (1971-1988) secured 3 Colonial Hills Conference titles ('75, '82, '83) including a State Group I Championship in 1975, capping an undefeated season which included a still standing club record 8 shutouts. Under Head Coach William "Bill" Carpluk (1989-2005), the team posted a 116-49 overall record, including a club record 17 game winning streak (1992-1993). Carpluk's teams garnered 6 Iron Hills Conference Hills Division (IHC-Hills) championships ('93-'95, '00, '01, '04) and numerous Group II and III state championship playoffs and finals appearances. Carpluk's era ushered in a new period of perennial domination of the very competitive IHC-Hills, as they posted only two losing seasons during his 16 season tenure. The team is currently under the able leadership of a veteran coaching staff, led by Head Coach Doug Kirk (2006-incumbent), a former assistant to both Attonito and Carpluk.

Other Sports: The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team was crowned sole New Jersey State Champions in 1994, lead by future Major League Lacrosse (MLL) player Joe Ghedina, winning the New Jersey Tournament of Champions. In 1998, the Varsity Girls Basketball team finished #1 in the State of New Jersey, also winning the Tournament of Champions. For the past 14 years in a row, the varsity Girls Soccer team has won the Iron Hills Conference Championship. The Girls Lacrosse team was ranked #2 in the state in 2005 and is currently ranked #3. The Girls Tennis team has been for the past 4 years ranked in the Top 5 in the State.
