FC KooTeePee is a Finnish football club, based in the town of Kotka. It currently plays in the Finnish Premier Division (Veikkausliiga). The club's manager is Janne Hyppönen, and it plays its home matches at the Arto Tolsa Areena.
History
Originally FC KooTeePee was founded as a reserve team of Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat (founded 1927). In the year 2000 it became an independent club. At that time Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat was playing in Veikkausliiga, but was relegated to Ykkönen and finally went into bankrupty. In the same season KooTeePee was promoted from Kolmonen to Kakkonen, and in two years it made its way to the highest level (coached first by Pasi Rautiainen and then Ismo Lius).
Supporters
FC KooTeePee is perhaps the best supported club in Finland (official "best supporters" award by Finnish Veikkausliiga committee 2004), with notable large followings away from home. KooTeePee fans are extremely passionate, loyal and genuine, and will give their all for the team. They always expect the team to repay the compliment and only one hundred (plus something) percent commitment is acceptable. Some of the younger supporters have started singing controversial lyrics of the Finnish semi-professional band, Molo Hasardi.
