Styria (Slovene Štajerska, German Steiermark) is a historical province of Central Europe, formerly bordering Carinthia, Carniola, Croatia and Hungary.

Presently it is divided into:

  1. A province (federal state, in German: Bundesland) in southeastern Austria, capital Graz (also called Upper Styria).
  2. An informal region (Slovene pokrajina) in northeastern Slovenia, major centres Maribor, Celje and Ptuj (also called Lower Styria).
