Stratospheerius is a musical group of the Jam Band and Funk genres, in a style they call "psychojazz trip funk". The New York-based group has opened for Tim Reynolds, The Slip, Ekoostik Hookah, and John Scofield among others. Featured in Relix Magazine's "On The Verge" section, the band was named "Best Jam Band" in Musician's Atlas Independent Music Awards (2005)[1], and has won the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest. They have performed both concerts and festivals, such as the Starwood Festival[2][3]. Their influences include Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, John Medeski, Bela Fleck and Dave Matthews Band.
