Savannah is grassland located at tropical latitudes. It is much drier than most tropical forest. Rainfall on savannah is between 50 and 150 centimeters (20 to 60 inches) a year, and can be very seasonal, with the entire year's rainfall sometimes occuring within a couple of weeks.

Savannahs dominate the continent of Africa, and are also found in India and the northern part of South America.

There is a city in the United States called Savannah, Georgia.
