Carl Curt Pfeiffer (1908-1988) was one of the founders of orthomolecular psychiatry. An MD and PhD, he was on the faculty of Emory University. Abram Hoffer was a collaborator of his. Linus Pauling was aware of, and perhaps marginally involved in his efforts. For many years Dr. Pfeiffer helped run the Princeton Brain-Bio Center which is dedicated to the orthomolecular treatment of those with psychiatric problems.

The Pfeiffer Treatment Center in Warrenville, Illinois is named in his honor.
