Ya, my apologies guys, I'm trying to learn not to jump the gun or auto-assume (as I did have 3 out 20 reverts yesterday being possibly mistakes). I'm slowly becoming more use to how RC patrol works :P. Thanks to Omicronpersei8 I haven't made as many mistakes in my recent reverts. The reference desk... as a general rule

..People don't usually vandalize the RD, in fact, it almost never happens. So in the future, if you see an anon doing something odd to the RD archives, it's probably a valid change. Also, there's a pretty good chance it will be me, as I tend to do tedious maintenance work while logged out, in this case the edit you reverted was part of a change over to a new archive system, thus the redirect from the old Subpage, to the new one. No harm done, really more of a loose end, since the page wasn't in use anymore --VectorPotential^{RD HAS A BOT !!!} 22:32, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. For the record, though: while I could have done more research on why that specific link was being added and thus might've discovered that it belonged there, I actually reverted it because it looked like an accident, appearing to have used a faulty #REDIRECT tag. RE:Elliot Tittensor...I wish someone would expand these kind of stubs. People go out of their way to keep the stub on wikipedia and not to have it get deleted, and then do absolutely nothing to expand the article. Because the way the article is right now, it doesn't really tell you anything about its subject. VandalProof

Noticed your note - have you found this to be helpful? I've only been able to try to use 1.3, bc it's the only one that works on regular user priveleges on Windows, but I haven't liked it much. I can't say I use it much, as I'm a Linux user with a dysfunctional Wine installation, so I use (and am a moderator for) VandalSniper instead. (I also wrote out a lengthy, totally unauthoritative comparison between VP and VS at one point.) I did once use VP in a large capacity, though, and I personally did prefer it over Popups – Popups isn't really an RC tool, though, in its defense, although I think it's a great script. -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 19:08, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, no one seems to care about this user's damage. I posted a link on WP:ANI. The RFC is getting hardly any attention. I'm doing exactly what the guidelines say to do and nothing is happening. Well, people might not care that much in so far as he isn't a very established editor. If the behavior continues it may make more sense to just ask an admin to give him a block and see if it wakes him up. He has been disruptive enough to warrant blocking. I was a little imprecise with my wording above... actually, it's totally broken on Windows. That's because GTK+2.8 hasn't been ported to Windows as of yet. Sorry.
