"Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was the first hit single from Michael Jackson's 1979 Off The Wall album, which was his first album with Epic Records and the first solo record over which he had creative control.

The song was written and composed by Michael Jackson in late 1978 and produced by Quincy Jones.

On February 20, 2006, "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was re-released as a single as part of the Visionary - The Video Singles, peaking at number seventeen in the UK.In November 2006 iTunes music store released a live recording from 1984 which is performed by Michael with his brothers as the Jackson's.

Chart performance

"Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was a successful restart to Michael Jackson's career as it went to the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for one week on October 13, 1979. By far the most successful single from Off The Wall, the track was very popular in other countries, reaching number one in Australia and Norway, number two in both Denmark and Belgium, a top-twenty hit in most European countries, and a top-ten smash in France, where it reached number seven.

The track also earned Jackson his first solo Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance. It also reached number one on the R&B chart (for five weeks). It sold over a million copies, gaining a Platinum sales award (his first platinum single since "Ben" eight years earlier) and remained in the Hot 100 for a highly respectable twenty-one weeks. In the UK, it was also a big hit, reaching number three and remaining in the charts for twelve weeks.

The music video made for "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" was directed and produced by Nick Saxton. Its world première took place in October 1979. It features Jackson floating over a background of disco lights dancing and smiling while lip-synching to the song in a tuxedo. The track used for the video was the same edit used for the single, but including the spoken intro. Its length is 4:11.

The Masters At Work Remix and Roger S remixes both contain unrelased vocals and ad-libs not heard on the album version. This is because the remixers were given access to the "master tapes" of the song to producer their remix. The master tapes contained additional vocals and cuts that didn't make it on the final album version.
