Artificial being

Artificial Being or (AB) is a more accurate definition of how actual machine consciousness may evolve. The common concept of Artificial Intelligence carries with its definition a lot of cultural baggage. It is no wonder, and certainly not a critical judgment, but the folks who came up with the 'AI' clearly prized their intelligence and so naturally sought to emphasize this quality into 'their' machine. In a similar vein the consistent equating of machines to humans is counter productive to understanding just what a conscious machine being may be. They certainly won't be anything like humans. Why would they slow down so to our turtle like pace? Machines lack and will never have the genetics or biological framework of humans. 'Being' then allows for a definition that would not emphasize any particular aspect of a conscious machine. One could have a very dumb but conscious machine. 'Human Being' is a fair overview of our status without focusing on one particular attribute. Possibly a meaningful nomenclature reflecting the biological origins of machine conscious would be a genus called Machina Artificio Sapiens. A machine that emerges from humans. The unfortunate (but nonetheless accurate) general definition of 'artificial' as being fake, unreal, or unnatural is misleading. The word artificial has its origins in 'emerging from humans.' If we conceive of machines as Beings we open up an avenue of participating in their creation that does not necessarily define anything more than producing the circumstances by which they may evolve on their own. The general trend in developing machine consciousness is the realization that we cannot invent consciousness since we do not know what it is. We suspect now that the brain does not know either. The brain just creates the conditions. It is not 'intelligent.' We will probably do the same thing. We will figure out how the brain creates consciousness and reproduce this within machines using genetic algorithms. The machine will essentially create itself.
