The Natuna Islands are a small archipelago of Indonesia, located in the South China Sea between east and west Malaysia, Kalimantan and Singapore. The islands are part of the Riau Islands province. There are 272 islands. The population is around 90,000.

Natuna has large reserve of natural gas that are exported to countries such as Singapore. However, most of the locals work as fishermen| or farmers. There is no real tourist industry.

The island Panjang (in [Indonesian] language: Pulau Panjang) is known for its [turtle] population.
