Brentwood is a local government district and borough in Essex, England. It is named after Brentwood, its main town. Other places in the borough include Ingatestone.

The current district boundaries date from April 1, 1974, when Brentwood urban district merged with part of Chelmsford Rural District and Epping and Ongar Rural District.
