Terrorism inflicted on Palestinians and British by Israelis (and pre-Israelis).

Contrast Palestinian terrorism, Terrorism against Israel

Areas to work on

  • The Irgun Zvai Leumi and the Stern gang:
    • Assassinated one UN official (Count Bernadotte), and several British ones
    • Attacked military airfields and railways
    • Bombed the King David Hotel and the British Embassy in Rome, although they have reportedly issued warnings prior to the bombings
    • Are claimed to be responsible for the massacres of hundreds of Arab villagers and the forced exile of thousands.
    • Carried out, as Arab groups claim, a massacre at Deir Yassin.
    • Israelis argue that the undergrounds' actions were bitterly opposed by the main Jewish leadership of that time, up to the extent of extradicting their leaders.
  • The Sabra and Chatila Massacre occured during the Lebanese civil war; it was carried out by Lebanese Christian soldiers, in a zone surrounded by Israeli forces. Most Arabs claim that there was an Israeli conspiracy to allow the massacre.
  • Assasination of Palestinian leaders
    • In a handful of cases, Israel has assassinated self-declared freedom fighters that have been employed by the Palestinian Authority and Hamas. Many of these assasinated people have publicly stated that they were behind terrorism against the State of Israel.
  • Hebron massacre
    • Hebron settler Dr Baruch Goldstein murdered some 30 Palestinians while they were praying on February 26, 1994.
  • Organisations
    • Rabbi Meir Kahane supported forcible deportation of Arab Israeli citizens from Israel and a ban upon marriage or sexual relations between Jews and non-Jews.
    • Jewish Defence League and Kach follow Kahane and support the killings carried out by Dr Baruch Goldstein.
