About me

After an absence lasting about a year and a half, I reintroduced myself to Wikipedia on December 2, 2004. As of January 19, I have 444 edits on this account.

I have been accused (falsely) of being Mike Church's sock puppet for contributing to articles about poker. Poker is one of my favorite games, and I don't see how it relates to "Ambition".

I have strong views on ethical issues related to the Internet and Wikipedia. Forgive me if I voice them loudly; it's nothing personal.

Mission statement

I was a Wikipedia contributor during 2003, and left that summer because of building incivility. Wikipedia ceased to be what it once was, a wonderful idea in practice, but increasingly over-run by the barbarians.

I've come back because I've realized that this project is important and that, really, the only way to fix it is to fight. By proving myself a valuable contributor, I will gain the recognition, then respect, of this community so I can right it.

I will be harshly critical of users, particularly sysops, who I judge to be detrimental to civility and the Wikipedia community. I hope no one takes this too personally.
