There was a famime in undivided Bengal (now independent Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal)in 1943.

This happened during the World War II when the British rulers horaded food for soldiers and thus restricted movement of rice within the area.

As a result, whilke there was rice stock inside Bengal, people could not get any and died in millions.

In Indian judge apppointed to investigate the man-made disaster, but his report was never published.
