Marc Andrew Bolton (born February 16, 1968) is an English actor, best known for his television work.

Early career

Born in Durham, the son of Peter and Verna Bolton, he first became interested in acting when he was asked to read-in during a play-reading for Pilling Drama Group (which his parents were involved in) as the person who should have been reading was ill. This lead to many appearances in Pilling productions and it was while he was studying at Lancaster University (eventually gaining a 2:1 in English and History) that he was persuaded by his drama tutor to apply for some London drama schools. He was accepted at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and, after completing his 3 year course in 1996, he graduated with distinction and entered the world of professional acting.

Stage career

Marc has enjoyed a varied career on the stage and has appeared at The Gate, The Bush Theatre and The Pleasance, as well as touring with the world famous Hull Truck Theatre.

Television career

Marc has appeared as the recurring character Dean Morris in Emmerdale since 2004 and has also guested on many other shows including Eastenders, Dalziel and Pascoe , The Bill, Dream Team (TV series) and Ultraviolet (TV serial) (with Jack Davenport). He has also appeared in a number of commercials.

Personal life

Marc married his wife Eve in November 2003, exactly a year to the day after they met.
