Prince Phobos is a fictional character in the W.I.T.C.H. comic and animated series.

One of the most well-known of the W.I.T.C.H. villains, Phobos is the tyrant who has usurped control of Metamoor [called Meridian in the TV series] and is draining the magic from its land. An evil sorcerer, he is imprisoned in Metamoor by the Veil but seeks to drain the power of his sister, Elyon Brown whose powers are equal to his own. If he drains her power, his own will double and he will be strong enough to tear down the Veil and take over Earth and drain its energy as well before moving on to another world. And repeating this process until he can defeat the Oracle and rule creation. He is defeated and incarcerated by the Guardians of the Veil and his sister in the last episode in the Meridian story-arc. He is released for a brief period by Nerissa in the following story arc but is soon defeated by Elyon in a magical duel and re-imprisoned. Endarno, the new Oracle in the Trial of the Oracle story arc is currently exhibiting signs of Phobos's behavior in the past and is believed the dark prince in disguise. If this is true it would make Phobos the most recurring villain in the W.I.T.C.H. comic books.

Powers

Prince Phobos has a vast range of magical powers. He can generate illusions indistinquishable from reality. He's also shown the powers of telekinesis, limited control over matter and mastery of a scrying pool that allows him to see into any place he chooses, even other dimensions. When he fought the Guardians of the Veil in the final episode of the Meridian story-arc he quickly defeated them and would have destroyed them, had Elyon not intervened. However he had stolen all of the power of Meridian and most of Elyon's powers. When he fought them again in the Nerissa story-arc he no longer possessed the power he had stolen from Elyon or Meridian and still appeared to be more powerful than all of the Guardians put together. Phobos appears to be immortal as he has existed since the creation of the Veil which was made soon after the creation of the universe. In the comic book and the TV series he is hinted to be the source of all evil in existence.

For a brief period he also possessed a portion of his sister, Elyon Brown's, powers.

Personality

Phobos has a very interesting personality, combining the mind of a psychologist with that of a cold and calculating mastermind. In many ways he appears to be insane, though most definately egocentric as he wished to rule the universe. His power definately seems to have gone to his head. He is a cunning strategist and can be seductive and persuasive when he wants to be as he had Elyon completely taken in and when he convinced her that he was a loving sibling and slowly weened her away from her friends whilst also feigning concern for her well being. In this he could be compared to Palpatine of the Star Wars franchise.
