Daniel Handler is an occasional author and even more occasional accordionist. His novels are The Basic Eight and Watch Your Mouth; they are comedies with a Gothic mood and rather adult subject matter. The dulcet tones of his accordion playing can be heard most notably on The Magnetic Fields' album, 69 Love Songs.

Under the pen name Lemony Snicket, Handler has written a series of children's novels, A Series of Unfortunate Events. Daniel now lives in Sacramento, California. He is a newlywed.
