Lena is a village located in Oconto County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 510.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.


As of the census of 2000, there are 510 people, 216 households, and 139 families residing in the village. The population density is 223.8/km² (576.8/mi²). There are 221 housing units at an average density of 97.0 persons/km² (249.9 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 99.22% White, 0.20% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. 0.98% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 216 households out of which 31.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.4% are married couples living together, 12.5% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 35.2% are non-families. 27.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.36 and the average family size is 2.86.

In the village the population is spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 109.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.9 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $30,000, and the median income for a family is $34,750. Males have a median income of $28,750 versus $21,591 for females. The per capita income for the village is $19,262. 13.7% of the population and 11.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 26.4% are under the age of 18 and 7.1% are 65 or older.
