Birthdate

Is it just me, or is this unbelievably difficult to locate on the net? Velten 22:26, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's not just you. I've seen all sorts of conflicting dates too. Not just differences in the year but in the month and day too. Assuming that's her real name, it might be easier to look in the national records office up in Angel, London! I believe she's born somewhere between 1968 and 1970. Triangle e 22:29, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, I was certain she was born sometime between 1972 and 1975! The sources are not very reliable. Velten 01:24, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was honestly thinking it was around 1970-72 before I came here... SOMEONE doesn't want her real age known, apparently! Gishra 21:46, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Gishra[reply]
reading an interview in a sunday paper a while back, apparently her mum is 80 years old (or maybe 81) by now (which i'd say reduce the chances of it being much later than 1970), and she quotes her age as being close to madonnas, who i believe is around 47. I'll go and check. bert 22:18, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
sorry, Madonnas 48. I came here trying to find out how old goldfrapp was, i'm sure I read it on here once, i'll go and check the reverts. bert 22:21, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are we not happy that the 13th May 1966 date was correct? If the information on the link that was provided is correct, then that would be the correct date. It's hard to say without viewing the original magazine articles themselves. Triangle e 01:18, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Once we've established an age, i think we need to lock this page to unregistered and recently regitered users.bert 20:29, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you look on Armadillo.co.uk for directors under the name Alison Goldfrap it brings up Alison Elizabeth Goldfrap, DOB 13th May 1966. With all the suspicion about year of the horse and May 13th, I think this brings this to a conclusion. Motwu 01:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It strikes me as crazy that there is a whole paragraph saying that her birthdate is not entirely clear (no matter how 'obvious' it seems by putting together the pieces) and yet it is explicitly written as fact in the profile. Either one of these two need to be changed. If it is referable fact, why is there a paragraph explaining the problem solving of the editor who added the date? If it is not ('it is though this is Alison'? what the hell?), then put birthdate unknown and rewrite the paragraph to make it less OR. 82.27.194.127 (talk) 22:26, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. In the first paragraph of the article there are very precise biographical data that would make Goldfrap(p)s age perfectly clear. Of course it's okay that Alison is playing with her age, but that is just pure trivia if there is no real question whatsoever about her birthdate. --Bernardoni (talk) 21:24, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Surname

I have good reason to believe Goldfrapp isn't her real surname. For a start according to 192.com there is nobody in the UK with the name Goldfrapp. Ancestry.co.uk does not have a surname board for Goldfrapp, which is extremely unusual as they have all sorts of weird and wonderful exotic surnames on there. freebmd.org.uk similarly has no entries whatsoever for Goldfrapp. Motwu 15:49 16 December 2007 —Preceding comment was added at 15:52, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interestingly there is an "Alison Elizabeth Goldfrap" according to 192.com who owns a company called Alison Goldfrap Ltd in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. There are four other people with the name Goldfrap on there. Motwu 11:58 25 December 2007 —Preceding comment was added at 11:58, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It seems like Goldfrap was the original form. I'd guess at the name being of German Jewish origin, if it is real. Using a stage name would fit with her reluctance to reveal much about herself. --MartinUK (talk) 18:05, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

vegetarian

She is a veg: http://www.peta2.com/UK/uk-goldfrapp.asp http://www.furisdead.com/feat-goldfrapp.asp --Sugarcubez (talk) 02:26, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Relevant how?

Work outside of Goldfrapp

Lots of missing credits here:

I don't see her being credited to the song "Face Me" from Rest Proof Clockwork (hidden track after Air Locked).

Although Mara Carlyle's record label wrote me to say that Mara actually wrote the "Face Me" song and Allison sings backup. I can only hear 1 voice I think. 169.132.18.249 (talk) 18:01, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
