ARS Code of Conduct
  • Note that this wikiproject is only intended to improve the encyclopedia. The project is not about casting votes or vote-stacking. Be sure to follow the guideline on canvassing. This means, in part, that you should use Template:Rescue list on the deletion discussion page when you list the discussion here.
  • Focus on improving content. For example, when working on an article listed for rescue, try to qualify topic notability by adding reliable-source references with significant coverage of the topic. Edit the content to address specific concerns raised in the AfD discussion.
  • Show the light. If you comment in an AfD discussion, try to describe points in the nomination that have been corrected. Note any remaining deficiencies (e.g. lack of organization, structural problems, lack of balance, etc.). Base comments upon Wikipedia's deletion policy. If an article has been rewritten, you may place a comment in the AfD as a courtesy to assist the closing admin in determining which article version others were referring to.
For more information about article rescue, please refer to ARS Tips to help rescue articles and ARS Rescue guide
For additional article improvement listings, check out this project's archives and listings at WikiProject Cleanup

This is a list and discussion of Wikipedia content for rescue consideration. When posting here, please be sure to:

  • First familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's guidelines for topic notability and identifying reliable sources, as well as the prohibition on inappropriate canvassing
  • Include a specific rationale why the article/content should be retained on Wikipedia, and any ideas to improve the content. Please ensure that your comment here is neutrally worded. (You can also !vote to delete an article at its deletion discussion because you think it is untenable in its present state, and still list it here in the hope that another editor will find a way to improve it and save it.)
  • You should disclose in a deletion discussion that a post has been made at the rescue list.
  • Sign posts with four tildes ~~~~.
  • Place the {{subst:rescue list|~~~~}} template in Articles for deletion discussions, to notify editors about the listing here. The tag can be placed below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

The following templates can be used for articles listed here:

  • *{{Find sources|Article name}} - Adds source search options
  • *{{lagafd|Article name}} - Adds relevant links
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (2nd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated twice
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (3rd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated 3 times
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (Nth nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated N ≥ 4 times

ATTENTION! Go to https://wikipedialibrary.wmflabs.org/ to apply for access to multiple databases to search for sources to help save and improve articles.

— Please post new entries at the top of the list —

I've already voted to delete this one, but just found out that this author is best known as C. S. Goto and so now I wonder if sources could be found. He is a writer of science fiction, and reviews are not showing up in the usual places, but if maybe others can find sources. CT55555(talk) 18:14, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Source ideas (that I've not been able to check yet):
  1. Internet Speculative Fiction Database https://isfdb.org/
  2. Locus (magazine) http://locusmag.com/
  3. Gale databases

I have always been fond of WP:LISTNs that aid navigation or provide information. Does this list fit the bill? The nomination rationale may be the longest one in the history of AfD. I have to admit I did not read the whole thing. I will have to try to read it again and determine what is needed. But for now perhaps the one claim about references can be addressed. I missed the AFD, but just added some islands. CT55555(talk) 15:49, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Prof but the article is in need of skilled rescue editors. Lightburst (talk) 15:30, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Withdrawn by nom after doing before (if that makes sense). -- GreenC 15:34, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Correct GreenC but it needs rescue badly. I think the sources brought forth by User:David Eppstein can get the party started. Lightburst (talk) 15:43, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sci-fi novel. Can we buff this article so it shines? Is it notable? Lightburst (talk) 17:38, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Songwriter voted "Best Acoustic Artist" in 1995. Do we have enough for an article? Presently unreferenced and looking pseudo-promotional with the vanity shot. One AfD participant has produced a few references. Lightburst (talk) 17:00, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I"m mostly posting this for my own benefit, so I can get to this later. CT55555(talk) 17:18, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Every post here seems to get a driveby from the sleepy turtle. Strange that participants here are accused of canvassing by the turtle - yet the turtle does nothing whatsoever to research/improve topics posted here. I have asked the closer Liz to reconsider, since I have only just begun researching the person and I have added two references. I was waiting to see if she was notable to log my own opinion. She may be a delete anyway, but this type of list following is a bit perplexing and maddening. Lightburst (talk) 23:17, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, it got deleted before I could improve it. How disappointing. CT55555(talk) 23:20, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
CT55555 Possibly not notable, but I had not reached the end of my rope yet in researching. Lightburst (talk) 23:24, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
CT55555 I managed to get the article undeleted so that it could be presented in the best version. I have possibly reached the limit of my own researching here. I put at least three news references in the article. I think she meets WP:BASIC but many have already rendered opinions based on the unreferenced and disorganized article. Perhaps CT55555 and other editors here can take a look and see if there is research that I missed? Thanks all! Lightburst (talk) 15:08, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I made some stylistic improvements and votes, it's a borderline one, but I lean keep 51/49%. CT55555(talk) 15:32, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was able to find three books about this fun-sounding 1956 vehicle. This might need offline sources, if there are any car fanatics out there. CT55555(talk) 20:20, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I created this article about the predecessor to the Amazon Labor Union. There is a discussion occurring that centres around the quality and depth of the sources. If anyone had access to databases that would find more sources to assess notability, that would be useful. CT55555(talk) 16:47, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously a sensitive topic, but that doesn't mean one that we should avoid. A lot of talk page discussion from editors who want to merge, rename and/or delete this, I hope people will take the time to read the discussion, the reliable sources and help improve the article further.

For the avoidance of doubt, indeed Canada has two monuments to a SS division and also one of a Nazi collaborator. I know that sounds unlikely, hence the topic's newsworthiness and notability . : CT55555

Making the assertion here of "...hence the topic's newsworthiness and notability" seems a lot like WP:CANVASSING. MrsSnoozyTurtle 07:06, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MrsSnoozyTurtle: Not sure what you mean. This has been canvassed elsewhere. Lightburst (talk) 22:36, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is the second time you've accused me of canvassing (link to first). I reject the allegation, again. Check out WP:ASPERSIONS please. CT55555(talk) 22:42, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
CT55555, which part of my statement do you think is a personal attack? I was just trying to impersonally raise a concern that a guideline has been breached.
Lightburst, please see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle 04:57, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MrsSnoozyTurtle, I have replied on your talk page. CT55555(talk) 15:13, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very sensitive to real canvassing, and this isn't it. The listing just seems like a statement of why editors might want to do what ARS is supposed to do. The criticism is unhelpful. --Tryptofish (talk) 22:58, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am rather disappointed in this deletion. The guy has 3.4 million Facebook followers, 1.4 million followers on on twitter and a almost a million on Instagram. We keep all manner of nonsense Youtubers and tiktokers with less notability or importance. IMO this project tends to regularly promote liberal Topics and shun conservative ones. I am not going to be Don Quixote on this subject but I think it is helpful to recognize that many editors have biases which hurt the project. Lightburst (talk) 22:31, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Iranian-American CEO of a notable organization, well established expert in her field. I created the article. I felt she passed the notability bar, but it is not currently very clear, and more help with establishing notability and sources would be welcomed.
