ARS Code of Conduct
  • Note that this wikiproject is only intended to improve the encyclopedia. The project is not about casting votes or vote-stacking. Be sure to follow the guideline on canvassing. This means, in part, that you should use Template:Rescue list on the deletion discussion page when you list the discussion here.
  • Focus on improving content. For example, when working on an article listed for rescue, try to qualify topic notability by adding reliable-source references with significant coverage of the topic. Edit the content to address specific concerns raised in the AfD discussion.
  • Show the light. If you comment in an AfD discussion, try to describe points in the nomination that have been corrected. Note any remaining deficiencies (e.g. lack of organization, structural problems, lack of balance, etc.). Base comments upon Wikipedia's deletion policy. If an article has been rewritten, you may place a comment in the AfD as a courtesy to assist the closing admin in determining which article version others were referring to.
For more information about article rescue, please refer to ARS Tips to help rescue articles and ARS Rescue guide
For additional article improvement listings, check out this project's archives and listings at WikiProject Cleanup

This is a list and discussion of Wikipedia content for rescue consideration. When posting here, please be sure to:

  • First familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's guidelines for topic notability and identifying reliable sources, as well as the prohibition on inappropriate canvassing
  • Include a specific rationale why the article/content should be retained on Wikipedia, and any ideas to improve the content. Please ensure that your comment here is neutrally worded. (You can also !vote to delete an article at its deletion discussion because you think it is untenable in its present state, and still list it here in the hope that another editor will find a way to improve it and save it.)
  • You should disclose in a deletion discussion that a post has been made at the rescue list.
  • Sign posts with four tildes ~~~~.
  • Place the {{subst:rescue list|~~~~}} template in Articles for deletion discussions, to notify editors about the listing here. The tag can be placed below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

The following templates can be used for articles listed here:

  • *{{Find sources|Article name}} - Adds source search options
  • *{{lagafd|Article name}} - Adds relevant links
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (2nd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated twice
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (3rd nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated 3 times
  • *{{lagafd|Article name|Article name (Nth nomination)}} - Likewise but for page nominated N ≥ 4 times

ATTENTION! Go to https://wikipedialibrary.wmflabs.org/ to apply for access to multiple databases to search for sources to help save and improve articles.

Obviously a sensitive topic, but that doesn't mean one that we should avoid. A lot of talk page discussion from editors who want to merge, rename and/or delete this, I hope people will take the time to read the discussion, the reliable sources and help improve the article further.

For the avoidance of doubt, indeed Canada has two monuments to a SS division and also one of a Nazi collaborator. I know that sounds unlikely, hence the topic's newsworthiness and notability . : CT55555

Making the assertion here of "...hence the topic's newsworthiness and notability" seems a lot like WP:CANVASSING. MrsSnoozyTurtle 07:06, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MrsSnoozyTurtle: Not sure what you mean. This has been canvassed elsewhere. Lightburst (talk) 22:36, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is the second time you've accused me of canvassing (link to first). I reject the allegation, again. Check out WP:ASPERSIONS please. CT55555(talk) 22:42, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
CT55555, which part of my statement do you think is a personal attack? I was just trying to impersonally raise a concern that a guideline has been breached.
Lightburst, please see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle 04:57, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MrsSnoozyTurtle, I have replied on your talk page. CT55555(talk) 15:13, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very sensitive to real canvassing, and this isn't it. The listing just seems like a statement of why editors might want to do what ARS is supposed to do. The criticism is unhelpful. --Tryptofish (talk) 22:58, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ces Ciuhrii (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs|google) AfD discussion

A quick search revealed a ton of coverage, part of Bibliografia naţională a Moldovei, seems like an oligarch involved in corruption in a small country, worth saving. 31.205.13.226 (talk) 15:45, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A quick check reveals books and other references that might be used to source this biography on a political activist. He is an author also. Lightburst (talk) 01:13, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am rather disappointed in this deletion. The guy has 3.4 million Facebook followers, 1.4 million followers on on twitter and a almost a million on Instagram. We keep all manner of nonsense Youtubers and tiktokers with less notability or importance. IMO this project tends to regularly promote liberal Topics and shun conservative ones. I am not going to be Don Quixote on this subject but I think it is helpful to recognize that many editors have biases which hurt the project. Lightburst (talk) 22:31, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

George A. Lane, a British historian and author, was nominated for deletion. I believe he meets notability as an author. Any help with find lingo sourcing would be appreciated. Thriley (talk) 15:21, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This list is very incomplete, while there are a few source which could possibly meets GNG. I mean this list is very incomplete in 2014, and it was not continued in the same year. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Mexican municipal flags Alverado (talk) 09:44, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs to be rewritten from scratch. To me, WP:TNT is appropriate to remove the misinformation innate to this article until a rewrite can be done. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 03:56, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Mellohi! It is a fact. Your distinction doesn't change the problem. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Mexican municipal flags The link speaks for itself. Your gratuitous and unwarranted canvassed claim at the deletion page is b.s. I have no illusions that this posting will change the outcome. No one showed up. But you can spread your poison. Well known American antiquarian and antiques dealer. Wrote what is considered one of the most influential reference works on American furniture. Any help with sourcing would be appreciated. Many of the sources would likely be from decades ago- his most notable book was published in 1950. Thriley (talk) 12:22, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Iranian-American CEO of a notable organization, well established expert in her field. I created the article. I felt she passed the notability bar, but it is not currently very clear, and more help with establishing notability and sources would be welcomed.
