Lost Liberty Hotel Article, Will Help Resolve Dispute?

Rogerd, I saw that you previously took an interest in the Lost Liberty Hotel article -- enough so to vote on whether or not to keep it. Might I ask you to stop by it again and help resolve a dispute about the new "commentary" section of the article? Thank you for your time and attention in this matter. --OtisTDog 16:35, 7 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Muhammad as a warrior

Thank you for fixing my revert, I didn't notice 62.253.64.14 had make two edits in succession, so I only reverted to the last one he made. :) -- GregAsche 00:27, August 16, 2005 (UTC)

Paul Tibbets

Rich - I noticed you wikified 1945 in the Paul Tibbets article when it was already wikified in the same paragraph. Most editors will only wikify the first occurance of linkable text in an article. I personally feel that in long articles, it is good to wikify text when it occurs in far separated sections, since the reader may not have read the section where the first link occurs. Just my 2 cents. --Rogerd 17:54, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is to allow date preferences to work. If you set them you will see 11 September and September 11 ([[11 September]] and [[September 11]]) the same way.
In particular if your preference is set for ISO dates (1995-10-22) , it requires the year as well as the month to be wikified. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers). Rich Farmbrough 18:04, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you refer to me as a "vandal"?

Just because someone classifies a certain set of edits as vandalism doesn't make it so. Kurt Weber 18:38, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Because of this [1]--Rogerd 18:48, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'm aware of what the instance in question is. It wasn't vandalism, your assertion (and the assertions of others) to the contrary notwithstanding. Again, calling something "vandalism" doesn't make it so. Kurt Weber 18:53, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I guess there has to be some kind of statute of limitations for this, especially if no other bad behavior has occurred, but it is still too soon--Rogerd 18:58, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That would imply that the act in question was in vandalism, which in fact it wasn't. Kurt Weber 18:48, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

She did move to the U.S. before she entered show business when she was still a minor, and as far as I know, she's done all her acting in the States save for one U.S./Czech movie co-production. I definitely consider her a Haitian-American actress with the emphasis on the American. Caerwine 23:24, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA

Rogerd, I posted a reply on the RfA page. I didn't mean to offend you; I hope my comments didn't come across as such. My apologies if they did! Take a closer look at the kind of stuff admins have to go through here. I don't really know you, but based on what I've seen here, I bet you'd grow sick and tired of the whole thing very quickly, which is a shame, since then we'd be also losing a good editor. RFA

Your RFA bid did not reach the required level of support I'm afraid, so your nomination was failed. You are free to try again later of course. User:Nichalp/sg 06:21, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

==Who's RfA== Thank you for supporting my masters RfA. He appreciates your support and comments and looks forward to better serving Wikipedia the best he can. Of course I will be doing all of the real work. He would have responded to you directly, but he is currently out of town, and wanted to thank you asap. Thanks again. --Who's mop?¿? 20:53, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, didn't mean to imply it was you. You'll note that I added back your edit when I reverted. --Calton | Talk 05:23, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

ScudLee

I removed your vote at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/ScudLee because that request was over almost a year ago. The page is only kept as a historical archive. In addition, ScudLee has only made one edit since December. Tuf-Kat 00:59, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I figured it was either an accident or severe confusion. Happy wikiing! Tuf-Kat 01:18, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please drop by the AFD, read the article, and reconsider your vote. Someone's done a rewrite. - Mgm|(talk) 05:10, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for supporting my RfA

Dear Rogerd: I would like to thank you very much for your support on my RfA. I am most honoured by the trust that has been placed in me by yourself and other members of the Wikipedia community, especially since I did not conform to the standard edit-count criteria usually expected of administrator candidates. I promise to only use my administrative privileges to assist the community in doing good work, and also to be calm, considerate and careful in working to make Wikipedia a better place. You never know, Wikimedical science might eventually come up with a cure for editcountitis; things like Spoken Wikipedia, where lots of work gets you 1 edit, is probably the closest thing we have to a vaccine :) I look forward to working with you on Wikipedia in the future. Best regards, --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) (e-mail) (cabal) 04:47, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In the interest of conserving headings, I guess I will just jump on the bandwagon and thank you for your support on mine as well. Also, it is good that you supported someone (above) that was low on total edits. I wish the tyranny of the edit count was not such a big deal and having a history of good faith and such was more important. Qaz (talk) 11:02, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support on my RfA!

Thanks for your support of my adminship!! I was surprised at the turnout and support I got! If you ever have any issues with any of my actions, please notify me on my talk page! Thanks again! Ryan Norton T | @ | C 03:41, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

question about your comments on my RfA

"Oppose 40 edits in 11 months. Come back when you have had some experience here. --Rogerd 05:19, 14 October 2005 (UTC)"

I was wondering what edits had to do with the adminship I requested? not to mention, like I said in half of the articles I started under my userspace, that the only reason why they aren't in the main namespace is because wikibooks is too big of a mess right now and I don't have time to clean it up on top of my studies.
I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I'm just curious what any of that had to do with my basic understandings of the rules and just asking for admin for the specific purpose of being able to quickly revert vandalism when applicable (which doesn't matter at this point as I got the proper script from other admins) and to ban spammers. It often occurs in #wikipedia-en-vandalism where the same user or IP address blanks/adds a ton of useless text to ~20 different pages, but because people who do the reverts are trying to go after more vandalism and don't have the time to edit his discussion page they get left to keep on doing it. I just wanted access to stop that before it happens. The other thing I wanted to be able to do is delete the pages that come up that can't even qualify to be a revert, what good are those?

Please let me know why my lack of edits would affect my knowledge of how the process works when I monitor all mailing lists and talk to many people, both on irc, on the phone, and in person at wikimania all related to Wikipedia. (Preferably my userspace, but I'll try and monitor this) --AppleBoy Talk 06:57, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
