Uncertainty
Uncertainty is an inevitable part of the assertion of knowledge. Evaluating the degree of uncertainty, measuring it, and compensating for it is a basic process which is part of many activities and processes.
Uncertainty is designed into games, most notable, gambling where chance is central to play.
In physics in certain situations, uncertainty has been elevated into a prinicple, the uncertainty principle.
In weather forcasting it is now commonplace to include date on the degree of uncertainty in a weather forcast.
As a situation is evaluated and more and more data is gathered and thought is taken on a matter, [[hypothesis|hypotheses are made, experiments are performed, and gradually the degree of uncertainty is reduced as conclusions are drawn, but never wholly eleminated, except in certain special cumstances as where knowledge is defined by definition.
