Your Request About Retractable Pen

I saw that you wrote about this awhile ago, regardless of that, I think that the Retractable Pen should be added.[1] In fact, I'll look into making this article personally, and then add the retractable pen to the list. Oh yeah, I'd appreciate if you could tell me if the article was made already. Thanks!!!-BlueAmethyst .:*:. (talk) 03:14, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

I found nothing on it (although it is mentioned in so many other pen articles)... I'll start working on the page right now! I'll make the actual page later. :) Thanks!-BlueAmethyst .:*:. (talk) 21:30, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I had a long an tiring discussion with one editor on the Peer review page, Wikipedia:Peer review/Preity Zinta#Taran Adarsh

And now, there is a new forum Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics#Critics' opinion in Bollywood related articles...

I would really appreciate your intervention. Please participate.... Regards .... ShahidTalk2me 12:51, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Awards box

Hello!

Your opinion on the following matter please.:)

On the page of Jolie etc, there is an awards box, and it represents the whole awards section for Jolie on Wikipedia. I mean, her awards are mentioned only on her article, there is no separate page for her awards; all her awards are mentioned in this section, and apparently the writers preferred to format it in boxes. In our case, there are daughter articles for awards. Therefore, the boxes that we have seem to be wholly redunant/unnecessary on the page if there are award pages, for the simple fact that these boxes belong there (on the awards page).

What do you say? ShahidTalk2me 13:03, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree with you. Why do you ask though?xC | 13:35, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

speedy deletions ...

Hi there. I'm exhausted. I just spotted you at random for tagging a non-notable bio. I've done some of that in the last few days, just for a change of pace from my usual editorial activity, and I'm getting sick of the backlash. I've had my tags summarily removed without notice or comment, my comments deleted from the AFD page, and it just makes me sick. How do YOU handle it? Cbdorsett (talk) 15:12, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

If your tags are removed from a page by the editor who made the page, that constitutes vandalism and you can report the editor for that (after warning him/her, of course).
If your comments are deleted from an AfD without your permission, thats vandalism too - although you'll have to talk to an admin and figure out what needs to be done depending on how serious it becomes.
As for me, I take breaks while doing this, only do this when I'm in a good mood so that the vandals cant affect me, and don't take Wikipedia seriously enough to allow my emotions to be controlled by it. :)
Don't stress, and happy editing,xC | 15:18, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Wise words, clearly, and I thank you for them. I suppose what I'll do is leave the hot areas for when I'm in the right frame of mind - ready to deal with cruftiness without letting it get to me. I usually have plenty to do in non-controversial areas. Thanks again. --Cbdorsett (talk) 05:37, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Could you do me a favor? Take a look at the discussion on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rosetta Burke. Am I doing the right thing here? Should I just walk away from things like this? In the past, I have run into two or three editors who have a novel view of WP:ownership, and this seems like a reprise. Anyway, your input would be welcome - I'm not asking you to intervene in the AFD debate, just to advise me on how to deal with imperious deletions and lies. Thanks for your time. Cbdorsett (talk) 10:43, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
  • I got an apology, which I accepted. As far as I'm concerned, this closes the whole thing. Thanks for your time. Cbdorsett (talk) 10:19, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Thanks for your latest reply. Happy holidays. Cbdorsett (talk) 23:24, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Dr. Georg Ledderhose

A tag has been placed on Dr. Georg Ledderhose requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello friend!

I've already discussed this with User:Yamla. This user had a user name which was blocked. But here are my points:

  • The main problem was -- unreliable sources.
  • Her alleged kiss with Ronaldo is just a silly gossip, and if you see where it bagan, you'll laugh about it.
  • "Basu created her own website" - almost every celebrity has his own website. Besides that, did she create that?
  • "Basu danced with sex workers" - I think can be notable in some way, but the ref is unreliable and my attemts to find a reliable source failed.
  • "Basu is now an animal rights activist and is a member of PFA and PETA - needs an RS.
  • "Basu was molested by a man in a public nightclub" - is that a controversy? And what's notable? (ref is again, unreliable.)
  • "A cosmetic surgeon notified the press recently that Basu had failed to pay him for her alleged silicone implants four years after receiving them" - LOL!
  • ==Trivia== - not permitted.
  • If there are some points you disagree with, please let me know. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 10:23, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Found an RS for dancing. I'll add some possible info. Best regards,:) ShahidTalk2me 10:30, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Hey

Hey there, sorry for not getting back to you for so long after you left a message at my talk-page. You may have figured out that I'v been away from Wikipedia for a long while but have recently returned.

Um, about looking over the Shah Rukh Khan articles and all, I'm kinda unwilling to get back into that saddle right now. One of the prime reasons for that is that WP:INCINE is heavily understaffed (Well it was back around then, dunno about now) and many of the associated editors tend to write articles in ways that they like rather than how they should be written. A good example of this is the Shah Rukh Khan article: I went through hell and back to get that article named "Shah Rukh Khan" and the same thing with "Rani Mukherjee", and provided many reasons and citations as to why they should be named that way. Apparently some editor has changed them back to the wrong spellings of "Shahrukh Khan" and "Rani Mukerji", which are the wrong names and have no reason why they should be that way. I haven't bothered to find out who did this and why, but I'm guessing that it is more or less the same reasons why people who hero-worship these people should not be editing these articles. The Rani Mukherjee article is (or was) being used as a weapon against the Preity Zinta article by a hero-worshipping editor fan. This should not happen. I guess I got sick of reverting cruft and bad edits and arguing with people who just don't have any idea of Wikipedia policies and write articles the way they want to, so that's why I went away.

I invested a lot of time bulking up the Shilpa Shetty article and thankfully that hasn't changed or degraded (much). I never finished it though, maybe that's why it failed GA when someone nominated it in my absense. Anyhow, sorry for rambling on. I guess I will come back to INCINE one of these days as I'm just restricting myself to editing a few articles. Right now I'm up with the Benazir Bhutto assassination stuff and some Nepali politicians in preparation for Nepal's upcoming rejection of the monarchy. I find it rewarding to get involved with articles that are likely to get prominense in the future. That is why I started working on Shilpa Shetty as soon as I heard she would be on Celebrity Big Brother. It was bare bones when I started working on it but it has turned into something of a serious article now.

So I'll get back to INCINE and do some housekeeping there, just like I created the barnstar template for that project, maybe I'll crate a userbox or two, or even create another WikiProject entirely, I'll have to look into it. Anyway, hope all is going fine with you. Ekantik talk 19:37, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
