The 2025 Canadian Shield is an upcoming invitational international men's soccer tournament that will be held in Toronto, Canada. It will be contested by Canada, Ukraine, New Zealand and Ivory Coast. It serves as an unofficial spiritual successor to the Canada Cup tournament. The tournament will take place from June 7 to 10, 2025.[1]
Format
[edit]Each team will play two matches; Four matches will be played. The tournament will award three points for a win, one point for a shootout loss, and two points for a shootout win. All matches will have a winner and games will go directly to penalties after 90 minutes (plus injury time). The team with the most points after the conclusion of the tournament will be crowned champions.[2]
