The black-collared jay (Cyanolyca armillata) is a jay found in Andean forests in Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. It was formerly considered conspecific with the white-collared jay.
Taxonomy and Systematics
[edit]There are three recognized subspecies: Cyanolyca armillata ssp. armillata, Cyanolyca armillata ssp. meridana, and Cyanolyca armillata ssp. quindiuna. C. a. quindiuna is also referred to as the Quindio Jay.[3]
